Last post of the year....

Yoz,

Time flies and now is the end of the year.... so here's the last post of the year.

Remember I always tell you how Pb can make u less intelligent (or more 'less intelligent' for some of u, hahahaha) and how Al can make one get Alzheimer's Disease? Now, researchers in Emory University has found that Copper ions might also have something to do with the Alzheimer's. Read here for more.

While you might not be able to understand the article fully, hopefully you will see the importance of Chemistry and that much research is actually interdisciplinary and requires collaboration between experts of the various discipline.

Ok, here's wishing all a blessed new year. Enjoy your new school.

The Quest for Chemistry Continues...

Yoz,

I'm sure some of you are bored with the days of playing WOW, HGL or wat have you. So if you are looking for something to read, here's the right place!

We all know cats have superb vision in the night. However about dogs?

Read up more about night vision in dogs here.

Now, how is that Chemistry related? Do you know that we rely on Chemistry to see? Isomerism (what's that for those who have returned all your organic chemistry to me) is important in the Chemistry of vision. Enjoy!

Take a break, Have some negative ions to calm you.

Yoz,

Dun be too stressed mugging. Take a break.

I was searching for Rb that one of you is asking about when I chanced upon this.

There must be quite a lot of anions out there during our lessons rite?

Picture taken from http://www.webelements.com/webelements/elements/text/Rb/key.html

Actually, have you ever come across some devices (e.g. aircon) that are said to be 'healthier' cos of some negative ions thingy? Here's an article which you might want to read: What's In A Breath of Fresh Air?

Ok, enough of rest, go back to your mugging.

=)
